The Journal Newsletter

October 2012

Introduction

Happy (almost) Halloween!

We have new writing prompts this month, and a new tip about copying your reminders to another installation of The Journal.

For those of you participating in NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org) next month: Good luck! I’m not participating this year, but I will be writing alongside you. =)

Thank you for using The Journal!

Tips & Tricks

TIP: Copying Reminders to a New User or Journal Volume

If you need to copy your reminders into a new install of The Journal, or a new user login or Journal Volume, do this:

1. Click on the “File” menu, “Export” sub-menu, and choose “Export Entries to File…”

2. Select the “Reminders” option in the list.

3. Export to either a TJEXP or TJXML file.

4. In the other install/user/Journal Volume, click on the “File” menu, “Import” sub-menu, and choose “Import Entries…” Browse to select the file you created in #3 and do the import.

That’s it!

NOTE: You might be tempted to use the “Export Reminders” and “Import Reminders” commands for this, but those are for exporting/importing via a CSV (comma-separated values) file to software other than The Journal.
