The Journal Newsletter
Introduction
Welcome to June 2008! (Or at least the 2-3 days left of June. Where *did* the month go?)
This month’s Tips & Tricks show how you can doodle in The Journal, and we have a new set of writing prompts.
Thank you for choosing DavidRM Software’s The Journal!

TIP: How to Doodle in The Journal
Ever wanted to be able to quickly draw or doodle something in your entry? Here’s one way you can do that:
1. Click on the “Insert” menu and choose “Insert Object…”
2. Click on “Create New”.
3. Choose “Paintbrush Picture” from the list and click on “OK”.
That will insert a blank image in your entry. To do your doodling, double-click on the blank image. This will activate Paintbrush within The Journal.
When you’re finished doodling, click outside the image (or choose “Close Object” from the “Journal” menu).
You can resize the image by clicking and dragging on one of the corners.
If you have other graphic/image handling software installed on your computer, you can experiment with inserting blank images using them instead. Review the menu on the “Insert Object” form to see what other graphic/image “objects” are available.
Writing Prompts
Free Writing Prompt – Write for 20 minutes using the following as your starter: “Summer Falls”
Journaling Prompt – What are your comfort foods? Comfort books? Comfort TV shows/movies? Comfort music? Comfort activities? Is there a common theme in how you seek comfort?
Memoir Prompt – List the books you most remember reading through your life. Was it the book itself, or your circumstances at the time you read it, that make it so memorable?
