Tulsa Offshoots – Philbrook – 22 May 2008

Filed under: Philbrook,Tulsa,Tulsa Offshoots Photography Club — DavidRM @ 12:36 am
The first Tulsa Offshoots shoot. Unfortunately, Susan shot film (Nikon N65 w/ 28-200mm lens). So it’ll be a few days before we can scan and post her favorite shots. Sometime this summer, though, we’ll get her a proper DSLR (or, more likely, I’ll upgrade my DSLR and she’ll “inherit” my Nikon D70s 😉 ).

Tulsa Offshoots Photography Club

Susan & I have started a new photography club: the Tulsa Offshoots.

The plan is that we will get together “most Thursdays”. On these Thursdays we will meet, somewhere, either in the early AM or the late afternoon (better light then, of course) and shoot what we find.

The goal is to create interesting photographs–maybe even art. We’ll each pick a photo we think is our best from the shoot, and 2-3 “runners up”. These we’ll post to this blog.

Where we will meet, and when, will be announced on this blog a day or two prior.

So if you live in the Tulsa area and would like to participate, drop us a line, and/or just show up and shoot. We’re friendly. 🙂

More Crypts and a Bit of Lakeshore

Filed under: Travel — DavidRM @ 6:44 pm
We visited a couple more cemeteries today, Greenwood and Metairie, and then drove along Lakeshore Drive, next to Lake Pontchartrain.

A Ferry Ride and More Walking

Filed under: Travel — DavidRM @ 9:28 pm
We took the ferry (free for pedestrians) across the … body of water … to Algiers. Then we had a sorta picnic in Jackson Square and wandered the French Quarter.

We rode this boat last time we were here. The fried chicken lunch sucked.

A Walking Tour of New Orleans Cemeteries

Filed under: Travel — DavidRM @ 3:01 pm
Susan & I walked through Lafayette Cemeteries No. 1 & No. 2, and St. Joseph Cemeteries No. 1 & No 2. We also had a short conversation with a lizard (possibly a chameleon) and spotted a falcon (not shown).

We didn't eat here. It was closed. Thus making the sign an instant relic.
We didn't eat here either.
