On the way back to Tulsa, we stopped outside Weatherford to take some pictures of their new power generation windwills. They’re flippin’ huge. Also, a word of advice: parking on a busy interstate (I-40) to take pictures is…not recommended.

A Weekend Out and About

We took a short family vacation this weekend to attend the wedding of Andrea Loyd and Derek Lowell. Andrea is my eldest niece, my parents’s eldest grandchild, and the first of that…hmm…generation…to get married. We drove down with my sister Anita and her husband Eric. We stopped along the way to sightsee in Red Rock Canyon State Park.

A Princess Dances and a Butterfly Lands

Saturday evening, a storm blew in just as we were about to leave to go to a park. So we stayed home and I shot some pictures using the tripod. At one point, a small butterfly decided to perch on my cheek. Davis took that picture.

The wind was quite gusty

A vortex of evil formed over our neighbors and sucked them in...or tried to...they're fine now...

A butterfly on my cheek. No, I don't know *why* it landed there.

That New Thing in Jenks

We went down to the new shopping center in Jenks, located by the river at the 93rd Street Bridge. The light was gorgeous when we got there, but it was late evening, so it faded pretty fast.

Duck Fair

Davis’s 2H Waddling Duck won first place in the youth open class handmade item division at the Tulsa County Fair. And since we were there, I snapped off a few pics of Bell’s Amusement Park.

Reunion, Duct Tape, and Okmulgee Lake

Yesterday was another family reunion. Seems to be a summer thing. The experience proved educational, though. For example, did you know that you can make purses out of duct tape? I have proof. After the initial get together, the event reconvened at Okmulgee Lake.
